Scott Choate's plays have received public readings at Playwrights Center of San Francisco (PCSF), Orange County Playwrights Studio (OCPS), been broadcast on KZYX (Mendocino County Public Radio) and performed on Zoom. Awards include the 2020 Seven Hills Literary Competition (Tallahassee Writers Association). Publications include the Seven Hills Literary Review and the on-line review, Fleas On The Dog.

Brief summaries of Scott's currently available work are below:

ZOOMERANG (the short play in which a meeting of Zoombombers is infiltrated by their worst nightmare). Presented at Playwrights Center of San Francisco PCSF Playoffs short play festival, summer 2021.

MAPS (originally the short play series in which a troubled woman visits an old school travel agency to book her "trip of a lifetime", and get revenge on an ex); Zoom performances featuring Franceska Del Colle, Ronny Rubens-Garcia, Stephanie Kaczmarek and David Roth began in summer, 2020. MAPS is now a full-length play which received its first public reading in Trey Nichols' Playwriting Workshop in December, 2021.

CONFESSIONS-TO-GO: (the full-length comedy about best friends Bobby and Albert fighting the feeling of uselessness in retirement by starting a business, Confessions-To-Go. It catches on with the public at first, but soon attracts the attention and opposition of their wives, the church and perhaps sinister elements. They enlist a young waitress and a confession booth salesman as business partners and allies when the conflict heats up, especially when they are threatened to shut down Confessions-To-Go, or be shut up for good); developmental reading in the Playwrights Center of San Francisco Spring 2021 Reading Series.

LETTERS FROM SISTER MIRIAM (the full-length dramatic story of a nun and her brother who run from, but ultimately confront devastating family secrets); developmental readings at PCSF in 2018, Shelton Theatre, San Francisco and OCPS in Costa Mesa, CA in 2019 

HARLEY DEVERS' TEXACO STATION (the one-act comedy which takes place in the last independently owned Texaco station in a small Ohio town)

HAPPY LIVES SOLD HERE (the short play set in the future when lives are purchased, but don't always turn out the way the buyer wants); staged reading at PCSF 2019 PLAYOFFS, Shelton Theatre, San Francisco; placed third in short play category, Seven Hills Literary Competition, 2020 

SPECIAL AIR LINES (the short play about an airline where every passenger is special)

HOW MANY MORE? (the short play about two students who struggle, with themselves and each other, in the aftermath of a school shooting); radio play version produced and recorded by the Mendocino Theatre Company and broadcast on Mendocino County Public radio (KZYX).

SELF-CHECKOUT: A Love Story (the short play in which the voice of the self-checkout station 'lady' in a grocery store comes to life when her former boyfriend returns); performed at the Playwrights Center of San Francisco 'Best Of' Showcase in 2020. Radio play version produced and recorded by Mendocino Theatre Company and broadcast on Mendocino Public Radio (KZYX) in August, 2022.

GRANDPA MARTY'S STORAGE (the short play about an elderly man's lost possessions being contested by greedy 'family' members and the storage company owner)
